Well Eddie got to Beijing yesterday. He is a picture from his hotel room mid-afternoon. The Chinese say that it is fog / haze not smog. It looks to me a lot like LA Smog back when I was a kid and we used to have 100+ Smog alert days instead of the 1 or 2 week get now.

However the giant TVs on the other buildgins are cool. Plus in the lower right hand portion of the picture you can see part of the Bird's Nest (the Olympic Stadium!).
