Gerr.. Great!!

Tonight we saw Christine Ebersol at the Carlyle.
.
It's a little hard to explain who she is or what the Carlyle is, but I will try on both counts.
.
Christine Ebersol is the winner of last year's Tony award for Best Actress in a Musical for Grey Gardens. She is an amazing singer and an amazing actress. She put on a show at the Carlyle Hotel that was moving, funny and wonderful.
.
She sang a lot of old songs (like 1930s and 1940s) that were really fun, including "42nd Street".
.
The Carlyle Cafe is this TINY cabaret room with only 70 seats. So we saw here in a space that was so intimate that it was like a living room.
.
And it was really fun. It was the room Eartha Kitt played all the time, until she passed. IN fact, as an encore, Christine Ebersol sang and Eartha Kitt song, "Marvelous" and sang the hell out of it.
.
Great night.
