Farrah and Micheal

Farrah and Michael Jackson are both dead.
.
Weird feeling for me.
.
They were both of "an Age".. my age as it were. I had the Farrah poster in my college dorm. It seems really odd now, but Farrah was the first person who actually had nipples on television regularly.
.
I think that is why she was so sexy. You felt that she was a real person. A really sexual person in the age of Mary Tyler Moore and Florence Henderson.
.
She was too big for TV.
.
And neither one of them actually seemed to handle success or fame well. They both seemed to be caught up by the fame and tossed around by it. Michael Jackson because of his family and Farrah because she seemed just not ready.
.
It is a big red flag that says be careful what you wish for.
.
So it is a little odd to me. ps Micheal Jackson is my age (50) - so even weirder.
.
Farrah finally seemed to pull her life together, Micheal never did. But Farrah became less famous in order to take control of her life. Micheal controlled what he could, becoming less and less human. Maybe it was his way of personifing his internal deamons. He didn't feel part of this world, and ultimately didn't look it.
.
Farrah, on the other hand, at the end of her life insisted on pulling herself into our field of vision. We all remembered who and what she was. She insisted that we see what happens to a member of the family when cancer hits. Micheal was the bigger star, but Farrah ultimately taught us the bigger lesson.
.
That lesson is that in fighting cancer (or another illness), your family is key to your power. Your drive is critical to your health. And, even in death, there are lessons to teach people. God's rest Farrah - you forced us to see more than a girl in a poster. You forced us to see the person underneath.
