KyKuit Pictures

So today Eddie and I went up the Hudson Valley to Kykuit. This was the Rockefeller Estate for John, JD Junior and later Nelson and Happy.
All the Rockefellers were collectors of art, but Nelson added a bunch of Modern Art that was beauitful.

The place overlooked the Hudson and, unlike the Vanderbilt house, it was designed to take in the views. (This was our guide - she was crazy and I liked her!)

Japanese garden. The grounds had Italianate, British Formal and multiple Japanese gardens.

This fountain is a reproduction of the River God fountain in Florence.
.
The house was ...blah-ish (no Hearts Castle), but the grounds and the art was amazing. I couldn't take pictures of the art inside, but it was wonderful. The were Picasso's aplenty, including 12 of the 15 Tapastries that were done with his approval.

Great day!
