Nifty and Nonsensical!

This is both totally cool and nonsensical. It is a Hollywood created need. So for some movies (Minority Report springs to mind, but they did it in Avatar too), they needed see through screens, so you could see what Tom Cruise was doing (besides some really bad acting) AND see the computer screen.

So Hollywood created the "see through screen". Not really practical, but whatever.

Since it is so "cool" a computer company is working on one. I quote " It's only a proof of concept, but this is laptop with a clear OLED screen—but a stone's throw from those floating 3D displays of Avatar. Practical? Not necessarily. The future? OBVIOUSLY.".
