Mascot of the Month: September: NOT Giving IN To the Leeches of Fun

There are simple things that one enjoys from Los Angeles.  The Santa Ana wind whipping across your face at 80 degrees after a bad week of winter...  Descending into the smog of LAX... Rolling down the windows on the 405 after landing at midnight and feeling the cool of the ocean and the warmth of the drive...  UCLA Football in the 90's and UCLA Basketball most of the time...

Not blood, oh no, these are more insidious leeches.  They have sucked the fun right out of rooting for UCLA.  Or they have tried.  I shall not succumb.  I shall continue to root for my teams despite the best efforts of these 2 to destroy them.  To lay waste to the Rose Bowl and to bore Pauly Pavilion to death.Basketball has been banished to the Sports Arena this season.  It is an appropriate place for UCLA right now with their patented bore them to sleep game. The Sports Arena has been home to USC (during the 22 lose run in the Pac-8 when I went there), and to the Los Angeles Clippers - named after a famous toenail product.
.
These 2, who shall not be named, have turned Saturdays in October and November to the Spanish Inquisition of Football and Basketball games into visual equivalent of the "Stay Awake" song from Mary Poppins.
