Odd, no really ODD, show at a gallery

So this week-end Ed, Randy and I went down to gallery row and looked at some art.  This one show was written up in a couple of places and so we went.  It was at the Paul Kasming Gallery.
.
The first room had 3 giant paintings of King Kong that very cool.  I mean he was looking right at you, with maybe a tear.  There was a lot of pathos in the pictures.  And they were HUGE.  Here is Ed standing pretty far from them, and they are still big.
King Kong in King size.  Select to expand and see the tear.

Then it all turned weird.  In the second room he had painted pictures that at first looked like they were out of an Audubon Book of illustrations.  Beautiful birds, with monkeys in the frame.  But then the monkeys caught the birds, then killed the bird - all the while getting more sexually excited.
.
I am sure it was a commentary the visual dynamic of viewer as intruder and our voyeuristic tendency to sexualize, then destroy all we covet.  But it was still creepy.
