New Year's Day

Well, it is already Jan 2 here in Sunny Olde England.  Actually today broke brilliantly sunny!  We are going to see Barbara and Gareth for a pub lunch with Jane on our last day here.
.
New Year's Eve was a curry then games with Ellen and Jane.  At midnight we watched all the fireworks, then set off our Christmas Pressies from Dan and Pippa - the Sky Candles.  You can see Ed and Jane working on below.
.

Of course, it took off, hit the neighbor's roof, we were sure it was going to burn down the neighborhood - before it went up and away.  We didn't light the other 2.  One was hard to light and impossible to control in the mild mild wind !
.
Yesterday we took a nice walk to the Shepperton Lock before it started to drizzle.  We sat in the Thames Link pub for it to stop - but it decided to rain harder and harder - so we walked back in a rainshower, then a heavy rain.  By the time we hit the front door, it was a squall :-).
.
Last night Gill and Tony came over for dinner, and we spent a lovely evening with them.
.
So that is almost it from our vacation.  It has been great.  But I miss my pup.
