Question: Bigger Assholes or Just Bigger Balls?

So Darrell Issa (the man who promised to be a pain in the ass and hold hundreds of ethical hearings 7 days a week as long as Obama is in office LINK to quote), this peach of a guy, has moved to hold the Attorney General in contempt of the august body that is Darrell Issa's committee.

John Bohner has promised a full vote on this in the House of Representatives.  The committee vote had all the Republicans FOR and all the Democrats AGAINST contempt.  No doubt the useless floor vote - should it come, will be the same outcome.

Two things occur to me.

First, it is a worthless gesture.  The House (in days gone by) actually used to "hold" people in contempt.  There is a little cell in the House and they have held witnesses there until session was over, or they talked.  They don't plan to do this with Holder - they are just trying to score points.  If they wanted to do more, they could impeach him, but then the Senate would try him and they don't want that.  So we know this is just ego-masturbation for the Republicans.  Because, ho ho, Congress doesn't have any serious work to do.  (Everyone has already admitted the situation was a screw up.  They have givens hundreds of documents - but 24/7 Issa still isn't done swinging his dick around. Everytime they give him what he wants, he demands more.)

Second,  this sets a nice precedence that the Democrats will start using. Dick Chaney and his pro-Oil "energy commission", which actually outputted laws that were passed by the House, refused to release the members of the meetings for years and years.  Even AFTER a court required the release.  But the Democrats never held Dick in Contempt. (I would have loved to see the Penguin sitting down in the House Dungeon).

And so now, in the future, it is just more partisan shit that gets thrown at the wall.
