It's the Pommel..

It is always the pommel.  Whenever we do well, someone saves us on the Pommel.  Either Tim Dagget in 84 or Sasha in 2008.  Always the pommel.

You're 100% spot on. That Pommel is (from what I understand) the trickiest of the rotations. It seems it's the event that creates tears of joy or pain in a fraction of a heartbeat.
