But, of course, that isn't his name. Sigrid Oscar Jonasduttur, means Jonas"daughter" - and his mental problems might be due to the fact they named the boy a daughter, but I decided to look for a better explanation. I tried to figure it out, so I went to the Visir sight. It appears that the paper interviewed his sister Sigridur Jonasdottur. Whoever in the American press "translated it" (by hitting "google translate" I bet) didn't under understand Icelandic naming. And assumed that siblings would have the same last name. But not in Iceland. He would be Sigrid Jonasson. (Jona's son).
