We have a true tempest in a teapot here in New York / New Jersey. Let's just say there is nothing happening right now and we have a multiple 24/7 news channels to fill.

Republican Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey- who I like, is brash, caustic and sarcastic. He is very Jersey.

Last year in his race for Governor, he had the endorsements of mosts mayors including most Democrats. The mayor of Fort Lee did NOT endorse him. Subsequently the Fort Lee access to the George Washington Bridge was reduced from 4 lanes to 1 resulting in up to 4 hour delays.

The Jersey guy in charge of the Bridges and Ports is (was he has since resigned) a high school buddy of Chris Christie and said it was for a Traffic Study - not payback to the mayor. Of course, there was no traffic study, there was no filling - nothing. But Christie played all this off as bullshit. He said he investigated it and it was nothing. He went so far as to say, "Right. I got up in the middle of the night and moved the cones myself!" Hearty laughs all around.

For my California friends - it would be like closing the 101 at the Cahuenga Pass and telling people to use the 405.

All this manly bluster was kept up until yesterday; that is when e-mails came out that it WAS very definitely payback for the mayor, Mark Sokolich. And the e-mails, making fun of "that Serbian mayor" and referring to children stuck in 3 hour delays on the first day of school as "spawn of Democrats" were between Christie's Chief of Staff and his appointee to the Port Authority.

Mayor Sokolich's first comment was he was Croatian NOT Serbian. Then he blasted all involved.

So Christie looks petty and either a liar or blind to the faults of his friends. In other words, a politician.

But this amazing video was found. Because Christie will clean this up ASAP!
