With all the charm of a dead catfish...

Robert Gates has just released a book in which he attacks President Obama's style.  This is tactless to say the least and anti-American to say the most.
.

Consider if a Democratic Secretary of Defense, kept on by a Republican President released a book - during that Republican President's term - in which he slammed the Commander in Chief.  The Right, Fox News, The Tea Party, and even the Democrats would berate him for doing this while we were still at war.  But Fox News gives Republican Robert Gates a pass.  Not only gives him a pass, buts shouts it form the roof-tops. LINK
.
Now let us consider the charge Mr gates brings.  He says President Obama is thoughtful, smart and did the right thing.  But he didn't wage war with gusto.  He didn't bring a sense of "belief that it could be won", that President Bush did.
.
Where the hell to start?
.
Let's start with the most obvious, Robert Gate's man-boner for President Bush.  President Bush was supremely confident and did believe that the wars could be won.  He attack Iraq, and listed as reasons that the harbored Weapons of Mass Destruction and Al Queda.  They had neither.   Worse. WORSE! Now they have Al Queda because of President's Bush's invasion!!
.
Timeline.
March 19, 2003: Bush invades Iraq.
May 1, 2003: Bush declares Misson Accomplished
Jan 28, 2004: Official report - no WMD and no Al Queda in Iraq
Feb 10, 2004: Iraqis invite Al Queda into Iraq to fight the Americans.
Last Week: Al Queda now controls Faluja.
.
Yes, President George Bush 2 has big ass balls.  But throwing the military around for lies and to get the exact opposite result you tried for isn't something to be admired.  Even if you are a Republican.  Even if you don't like the young black upstart President.  America used to stand for the truth - now who the hells knows what we stand for.  Not Robert Gates.
.
And, remember when Republicans said that politics stops at the Ocean's Edge?  Was that just for show or did they really ever believe it?  Perhaps I gave them too much credit.  I thought Republicans really did believe it.  Obviously not.

Do you need the stupid ass steps that brought us to Al Quedato Iraq?  Here they are. (courtesy of the non-American Global Post. LINK
