This book was too sad to read...

I was book browsing the other day, and I ran across this book.  It was, honestly, too sad to read.  The Sixth Extinction is about the current massive extinction across all animal types today.  The fifth "great" extinction was the dinosaurs and other species destroyed by (possibly) a meteor strike and the following catastrophic climate change.
.
I mean I know about this already.   It is heartbreaking to think that entire species are going extinct because of mankind.  And, where it isn't climate change (which people don't believe in), it is often man's greed.
.
We are killing rhino's for boners, killing sharks for soup, killing elephants for doodads, and killing pangolins for a delicacy.
.
This book just won a pulitzer, but I think no one will be changed by reading it.  Those that care, probably know and those that will never care - no book will change them.  At least in the US, where everything has become a political football.  Conservation - started by Republican Theodore Roosevelt is now a Republican hot topic where if you support it, you are an evil democrat.
.
Tree Pangolin.  They make them into food, medicine and fashion in SE Asia, primarily China.
People cannot bred them in captivity yet.
