I wish this was true for 2 reasons.

At the simplest level, I find it incredibly sad that elected officials lie to gullible Americans because they hate Democrats in general and a Black Elected President in particular. Louis Gohmert is a Republican member of the House of Representatives, and the Governor has sent the National Guard to "protect" the state from the Federal Authorities. It is seriously depressing that elected officials - who know better - rile up the people with lies they know are not true.

The second reason I wish it was true, is because that would mean Texas isn't part of the country and we could cut those dumb-ass elected officials off and they could screw up their own country instead of mine.
