Right after Israel drops a (non) bombshell that Iran once had a secret nuclear program, the White House released this statement.
“Iran has a robust, clandestine nuclear weapons program that it has tried and failed to hide from the world and from its own people,”
Now this is a big fucking deal. According to the White House then, and contradicted by international monitors, Iran is cheating on the Nuclear deal!!!

It also makes this up to the second press release not really a "statement", but actually a historical comment released, you know, just as an FYI for history books. No misdirection intended...
