What's Wrong With Wisconsin?

.
Wisconsin normally gets a great reputation.  It has a great educational system, a history of populism and inclusion (well, ever since Joe McCarthy).
.
But now.  Gez...
.
First there is Scott Walker's attack on Unions, the independent election board and support of official cronyism.
.
Now this.  Congress names post offices.  It is almost all it does anymore.  During the last Congress 46 of the 240 bills passed by the House were naming post offices (details here).  After everyone in a state delegation agrees to a name, it is passed - almost always unanimously. No muss, no fuss.  No racism.
.
Until Maya Angelou, who has been a poet for Presidents since John F. Kennedy.  The North Carolina delegation wanted to name a post office for her and 9 Representatives voted against it.  No reason given, none that I can imagine except that she is black.
.
One of them was Glenn Grothman of Wisconsin (link).  Why?  He doesn't have a hsitory of voting against Post Office namings.  They are free (the Post Office has to pay the $250 - $500 for the plaque) and updated in the register.  Could it be she is black AND President Obama liked her?
.
Forward. ha!
