Not Everyone's Taste, but then Everyone (else) is Wrong

The Favorite is fun, fascinating, interesting, well acted and (most of all) surprising. It is a reasonably believable tale about Queen Ann in England. We don't know what is true, but the outlines appear to be true.

It is old British, but definitely not old school. The dialog is more 2010 than 1710. The barely discussed lesbian triangle is played well, without dancing around anything.

And the actresses (Olivia Colman, Rachael Weisz and Emma Stone) are amazing alone and a treat together.
