Why all the rain? Ask the Geography major. Warmer air is a product of climate change - which is also
occurring earlier in the year. The warmer the air, the more water it holds. The more water it holds, the worse the downpour when it hits a cold air mass.

This is unusual given the
relatively calm weather system the planet has had in the past. It is a usual
and normal
occurrence in our less balanced world. We have seen "100 year events" in North Dakota, the Mississippi River Valley and Red River Valley recently. They are the new normal, no longer "100 year events".
