I saw this story watching the Big 10 Network as Wisconsin played Minnesota. You can watch it yourself at http://www.ncaa.com/buick but then you have select [videos], go down to the 3rd on the right and select Jake Wood. Trust me, it is worth it. This guy is the embodiment of a good guy.

He was an Offensive Lineman at Wisconsin. He graduated in 2005 and went into the Marines. He got out in 2009 after a couple of tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. And then he saw the Earthquake and Hurricane hit Haiti. And he decided to hep,.

But not just help, he figured that he, and other ex-vets, had unique skills that could be rapidly deployed to disaster sites. So he went to Haiti, but while there he organized other Vets, Medical Vets and later other Medical personnel to volunteer. And "Team Rubicon" was born.

After the Tornado that hit Joplin MO, they went in as search and rescue, with the full cooperation of the authorities..
It is easy to want to do something, but to figure it out and make it happen. That isn't easy.
