The Big 10, shut out at 11 members, upped their anti and pushed the number of schools to 12. No luck.

The Big 12 was long in the lead as the number of members shuffled wildly from 1 (the Big Texas) to 7 to 8 to 9 to 16 and back to settle at something (10ish).

But all that nincompoopery is for nought (naut?, not?)... all that nincompoopery is for nothing as The Big East has gone and made itself the worst named conference. And not by the addition of Boise State (west of the continental divide, for those of you playing at home) - but for the addition of (drum roll please), San Diego State University (of California). Five miles from the Pacific Ocean!
