Talk About A Bad Bowl Game

Illinois, started the season at 6-0, only to finish at 6-6 plays the only team in a bowl game with a losing record. UCLA at 6-7.  Of course we would have been 6-6 also, but we had to play in our Conference Championship - and we apparently lost the coin toss to see who would be offered up to Oregon.

Both Illinois and UCLA will be without our starting coaches - both have been fired.  At least we look evely matched....  As ESPN puts it in their bowl preview...

Who's the nation's best interim coach? That will be decided in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl, where UCLA and interim coach Mike Johnson (taking over for the fired Rick Neuheisel) faces Illinois and interim coach Vic Koenning (taking over for the fired Ron Zook). The stakes? The loser is assured of a losing record.
