So next month we are going to Croatia. I am excited. We are flying into Dubrovnik, and we have a house with friends up in Viganj - which is apparently the windsurfing capital of the Adriatic. We will not be windsurfing, but seeing the sights around there.

This is the harbor and city of Dubrovnik. |
You might remember Dubrovnik, but can't place it. It was near much of the fighting in the Serbian / Bosnian war. It is at the very very southern end of Croatia, less than 10 miles from Bosnia Herzegovina and also Montenegro (which was then part of Serbia). It was all part of Yugoslavia, back when I was learning the countries.

Vignaj |
This is the little town of Vignaj where we are staying. We have a (remodeled) 300 year old farmhouse / villa on one of the cliffs overlooking the bay. The town has about 280 people.

The cool thing is there is a ferry to a port right across the bay. That port has super high speed ferries to Split - so there will be tons to see.
