The Walls of Dubrovnik and Inappropriate Humor (them not me)

when Eddie and I toured around the walls of Dubrovnik, it was very very cool.  The storm clouds were coming in, but the wall is a really special thing to see.  Built about 500 years ago, they were last used in the 1990s! during the Yugoslavian war to hold off the Serbians and Montenegrins at bay.

The people of Dubrovnik were under siege for eight months.  Shells were lobbed into the city (and hence the different roof tiles where the bombs hit), but the 500 year old walls couldn't easily be breached.  Now that war didn't really include any air power or tanks or anything (the Yugoslavian army heavy equipment stayed out of the conflict), but still.  It's impressive.

The hike is where we also saw the most inappropriate ad for ice cream ever.
