Watching...
We have an internal intercom/ phone system the front desk uses. Trevor knows that normally means someone is coming up (occasionally it means they want me to go downstairs).

So after it rings - Trevor sits at the door. If it takes too long, he goes to his couch spot and watches... and waits... and waits... Because sooner or later, someone is coming in that door!
