Open House New York Last Week-End

Last week-end we went heard about this thing, "Open House New York". For a week-end all kinds of public, semi-private and private spaces open up. Some for the afternoon, some (like the bank / condo complex above) for a reserved tour with the architect.

We heard about it late, so we weren't able to go on anything that required reservations, but we visited a lot of cool things.

For example, this picture is of the ceiling of the Chrysler Building. They had an architect (who had a microphone and a love of the sound of his own voice) talk about building the skyscraper. It was really fun.

We also got into the Mason Grand Lodge and heard (from them) all about the secret words and hibbie jeebie of the Mason's as well as seeing their rooms.
