So this is a picture from Iceland where Ed and went a few years ago (and I LOVED)..
But Iceland is having a small financial meltdown right now and some one is thinking about stepping in and saving them.

The Ruskies have been first to cough up millions.

That might give us pause since Iceland is a) in NATO and b) home of one of the biggest US airbases in the world and c) closer to the East Coast of the United States than the West Coast is.

Well someone else (even closer to Iceland) is also a little worried about the ex-commie hotbed right there. So there is a small (and funny) movement to just annex Iceland by Canada. Don't laugh, that is how those Crafty Ca-nooks got Newfoundland in 1949. It was going bankrupt too...

With a population almost as large as Newfoundland's and larger than P. E. I.'s and the territories combined, and with a strong history of self sufficiency, Iceland would likely neither be a long-term drain, nor swallowed up in a melting pot.
Most importantly, it's the polite thing to do.
