Okay, I love The New Adventures of Old Christine. And it has only really started to click big time since Wanda Sykes has joined. But I love the original cast as well. Espically the two women on the left of the picture

And, as with every funny sitcom pitched by a Hollywood Hack, there is the funny / goofy sidekick. But in the case of TNAOOC, the sidekicks are a team. Like Lenny and Squiggy or Thurston and Lovey Howell, they are a team which show up for the easy pat jokes and sometimes steal a scene.
In this case they are Alex Kapp Horner (middle above) and Tricia O'Kelley (right) in their typical incredulous poise. They are the "Mean Moms" from the private school that Christine has to work to afford to send her child to. Lindsey and Marley are stay at home moms with full time nannies who make effortlessly make Christine feel stupid.

We all had frien-emines like this in school. They are the ultimate annoying cool kids all grown up and bitter. It is the edge of bitterness that makes them tolerable and often hilarious.
Above the two moms make goo-goo eyes at the new teacher (Blair Underwood), whom Christine actually dated for a while. The Meany Moms treated this event as if it was a figment of Christine's overactive imagination.
The picture above is when Christine shows the proof with picture on with Mr. Underwood on herecamera phone, which is no big deal since they each have a picture of him as well.

Anyway, they are funny and mean and not enviable, so I like them.
This season they have given them an annoying pregnancy in a "twist too far", but here's to hoping that ends soon.

I do like the fact that Lindsay always looks annoyed at Christine and Marley always looks like she doesn't comprehend what Christine is saying.
