Think about this...

So think about this.
.
Let us assume for a moment that the human race doesn't blow itself up in the near future. And we will assume for these purposes we aren't smacked by a major asteroid.
.
Furthermore, let us assume that science proceeds in it's discoveries. Not that scientific breakthroughs increase, the speed can even decrease, but science does continue.
.
These are both basic assumptions we make everyday. We aren't surprised by smaller cell phones or smarter computers.
.
So, given this, it seems clear that at some point in the future, we will discover time travel. Right? That seems fairly basic at some levels.
.
So this means that we have, at some point in the future, discovered how to go back in time. That means that people have already been back - right? So, think about this, we have to live in the best possible world there is.
.
I mean if any of us could go back and kill Hitler, we would. Obviously someone already has. And the outcome was even worse! Maybe a more effective Nazi took over, the Nazi's won. Instead of 6 million Jews and 20 million dead Russians, we have hundreds of millions dead. So they went back and stopped the person from killing Hitler.
.
That is good news. That means that sure, the current recession is bad - but if they didn't go back in time it might have been (or would be) a lot worse.
.
Of course, we can't live like with this knowledge. Knowing that the past (our future) is manipulative-able at a macro level is probably not good for us. But it probably is / was or has been.
.
I told Ed this and he said that I made his head hurt.
