In our wanderings around New York with Phil, Julie and Dora, we left Dim Sum in Chinatown and wandered up to SoHo..
We passed by this beautiful building on Center Street and I loved it.

Well, in investigating I found this was the Old Police Headquarters from 1909. To quote the book, "In the Old 1930s movies, when the Police said "Take 'em Downtown!" this was the place.

It was abandoned in 1973, when the Police moved further down.

Then in 1988 it was recovered from demolition and turned into the elegant Police Department Apartments. According the book, it is luxury apartments favored by models and actors (i.e., the overly dramatic).
