The Williams Fire

A fire, The Williams Fire, is burning right now in the San Gabriel mountains, right above Azusa.  Azusa, but the way, was named for an Indian Tribe, but the city now has the "motto" of
Everything from A to Z in the USA - AZUSA. Yes, totally dorky, and it often includes W for Wildfire and E for Evacuation.
.
The Williams Fire
The fire is horrible, and only 5% contained.  The good news is that it is burning in the San Gabriels - and it is a National Forest, with almost no homes (there are areas even an Angelino won't build in).
.
But my heart goes out to the poor Nebraska BugPickers.  The UCLA Bruins play them in the Rose Bowl, just below the San Gabriel Mountains.  And, this fire, only 5% contained, doesn't look like full containment until next Monday.
.
That means that Saturday at 4:50 dusk will begin to fall with the full otherworldly glow of fire (like Mount Doom) in the East - with smog and ash chocking them as Nebraska takes the field to defend their 16th ranking - against a home team fired up with a new quarterback and a new coach.  It is our best chance to beat them.
.
I don't wish for anyone to be hurt in this fire.  I think they should just let it burn itself out.
