Really?

NY Times gives us this picture of the extramarital fornicators from
Afghanistan last year.  

Good Grief Charlie Brown.  Our CIA has recently resigned because he was having an extra-marital affair.

In most situations, this would be regrettable, but not surprising.  But our CIA Director is Gen. David Patraeus, kind of a folk hero in the States.  A military man, thought to be a little above politics, he worked with George W. Bush and then with President Obama.  A man who we assumed had very good judgement.
.
And so it might be, generally.  But when he lets his little head do the thinking, it all goes in the shitter PDQ.  He was boinking Paula Broadwell - who wrote his biography with his cooperation.  The FBI got into this whole mess because (allegedly) Mrs. Broadwell (yep - she's married with 2 kids of her own) was writing threatening e-mail to a 3rd woman who she thought the General might be into as well.

And. although the affair was supposedly over 4 months ago (or 3 years ago - depending on the story teller) it appears the CIA Director was feeding her classified information as recently as 3 weeks ago.

You have to think you are pretty damn bullet proof to be Director of our Central Intelligence Agency and carry on an affair that will end your career.

Also from the NY Times, this picture of Jill Kelly (in the big blue balls) next to, but not touching, Mrs. Patraeus - wife of over 25 years.  Mrs. Patraeus is from a famed Military Family - her father being the Head of West Point when the General attended.
