Say It Ain't So... Good-Bye Huell

Huell Howser died last night.
.
If you don't know Huell Howser, then you aren't from LA - and you missed one of the good guys.  He had a PBS show (for eons) all about travels in Los Angeles.  He died at 67 , from "natural causes".  It is hard to explain how interesting Huell could make the most mundane things.  He was great.
.
A couple of odd items, before the tribute video.
.
1. He left almost everything; money, tapes, his home, books, etc. - to Chapman College in Orange.  Which was (as we might remember) where my Grandfather used to teach Psychology and was head of the Department.
.
2. That really weird house in Morongo Valley (pictured below) was Huell's!  It was listed for a while last year for $750,000 (with the little house at the base as well) before he donated it to Chapman.
The Top House has amazing views.  Now part of Chapman College.
.
3. He got really sick in November, but nobody says from what.
.
4. Huell was pretty well know in the gay circles in Palm Springs.  He was a charming man to everyone and an all around gentlemen.  and yes, I know that gays think everyone was gay, but in Huell's case it was true.
.
Huell will be missed.  Lynnie loved him.
