My Review of "The Flick" at Playwrights Horizon

Wow, I did not like this show.  Which is odd, since the NY Times seemed to really like it (LINK).
.
Now I think the play is a love letter to old movies, written by a playwright - not by a movie lover.  So the magic of the movies, which she wanted to capture, was lost to the banality of the characters.  Don't get me wrong, Ms. Baker writes those characters excellently.  Those lost and emotionally stunted characters, but at the end of 3 hours (!) it was a big "who cares".
