Men (myself included) should never try to school Women on Contraception Issues (except ~maybe~ OBGYNs)

See here is the thing, that headline should read "Men" don't get..."
.
We call the various things that CAN prevent pregnancy "birth control".  But they each can do many other things.  The woman's physiology is a lot different from a guys.
.
You know why there is no "birth control" pill for men?  Not because they can't do it (they can easily medically castrate men), but because there is no way to remove the ability for men to make babies and still allow men to have sex.
.
With women, there are various ways to stop a pregnancy from happening, that ALSO do all kinds of hormonal, physiological things to their bodies.  This means that some forms of "birth control" work better for some woman, but may cause real problems for others.  It also means that many women are prescribed or take "birth control" for reasons other that stopping pregnancies.
.
My amazing friend Lauren was a lesbian who was on birth control, prescribed by a doctor, for crippling cramps.  It had zero to do with "birth control" and everything to do with a hormone issue.  (I can go into the massive bleeding and blood clots if you want.  I learned a lot about women's issues from her- you know by living with her, going to her doctor and then watching her die from Breast Cancer.)  It is offensive, no it is infuriating to listen to men talk about birth control like women are just sex machines and baby makers.
.
Men's "birth control" is essentially to wrap it up in plastic, but for women we have foisted hormone changes, reducing the viscosity of their uterine lining, changed their ovulation cycles - all kinds of weird shit.  All of this, ALL OF IT, so that men get to still have sex.  Seriously,  a male pill would just stop you from getting a boner.  Or "completing the act".  You want to know what that feels like - watch Robin Williams do his viagra schtick.
.
And "giving women birth control" is NOT free.  It is part of HEALTH INSURANCE because it deals with women's health.  And for many people (and every single one covered by this ruling) Health Insurance is part of their compensation package.  For people too stupid to understand, "compensation" is a fancy word for what one is given for the work one does.  It's not "free" anymore than paying a person $10.00 an hour is "giving" them $10.
.
So men, a piece of advice, shut up about Birth Control.
.
God Approved?

You know what frosts many women, Hobby Lobby (and the 94 + other companies now trampling over each other to avoid paying for this and any other birth control) is that NONE of them object to paying for Viagra.  None of them say, "if God wanted a guy to have sex, he would give him a hard-on".  No, those companies believe God would WANT an obese 90 year old man to pay for sex with a hooker - but God wouldn't want a woman who has medical issues to get a solution for it, you know, because they might have premarital sex."  Those companies have an odd religion.
.
So Men, to quote the kids today, STFU.
