Sarajevo Homes from the Austrain Period

Much of the beauty of Sarajevo comes from the various "layers" of architecture.  And it helps that a human brain can edit out the crap to see the beauty.  I will show you what I mean with a few pictures.

This is kind of a bland picture from a distressed house on one of the busy man streets.

But if you focus on the ornamentation (like your brain can) - you see this....

Gorgeous.

Or this ..

Kind of possibly cool.  But your brain can focus on the beauty!

And you see this....

Yes - those are bullet holes from the war.  It hasn't been redone, but people still live there.

And there is this kind of Norma Desmond house.

Even this odd little building that was part theater, part housing.

Look at the detail of the base of this(ex-)university?  / housing complex.

Then there are these 2 un-refurbished homes that I LOVE, right off the old town area.
