Look, I am not some giant conspiracy guy, but why the hell are we still in the middle east? I mean, we wanted to get rid of Saddam Hussein (for no real reason except the tried to kill Bush's daddy). Yes, he was a terrible guy. But, as it turns out, Iraq is full of terrible guys.
.
.
We want the government of Iran changed, and we want the government of Syria changed, but we are working with both of their governments to prevent ISIL from taking over land. We hate ISIL because.. why? They are bad guys who behead people.
.
The world is full of bad guys.
.
We are in a war for the "hearts and minds" of the Arab people, and yet we continue to bomb Arabs and support Israel?
.
Speaking of Israel, why do we continue to spend zillions of dollars to help a country that spits on our President and the half of Americans that voted for him - from the Prime Minister, to their Ambassador to their Foreign Minister?
.
And, IF we want to continue to help Israel (which we do and are spending billions on), why are we fighting ISIL along side Syria and Hezbollah? Hezbollah in Lebanon is attacking Israel, and yet we support them in their fight against ISIL.
.
And here is my point, "THEIR" fight. As in, not ours.
.
So ISIL beheads people who are in their country. Don't go there. Saudi Arabia has the death penalty for gays - I don't go there. Single young women traveling alone India get raped, so they don't go there to travel alone.
.
But... Terrorism!
.
Look at this simple explanation!
.
Bombs and drones kill at random. Random killings are infuriating, and so the only way the aggrieved people can fight back at us is through terrorism. Stop fighting them, and it will Islamic terrorism against us will soon stop. It isn't our fight.
.
What do we do if someone performs a terrorist act in the US - after we stop - you ask? Well, then we can hit back very very hard at a site we designate in advance (say something like, "We will flatten your capital and kills thousands of innocents, sorry, but that happens it you hit us.").
.
Does it work? Look at where ISIL terrorism is not happening. Russia, Sweden, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina. Places that aren't fighting in the Middle East aren't subject to terrorism. If not fighting doesn't work, we can always go back to our endless war. I mean we are well into the third decade of fighting and bombing randomly in the Middle East - why don't we take a year or two off and try NOT doing that?
