Our Dear Lucia has passed - Geraldine Mcewan

One of my favorite authors is E.F.Benson.  And my introduction to him was through the series Mapp and Lucia. (He wrote the books in the 1920s and 30s)
.
At the time of my introduction, BBC faire was limited to the occasional PBS runs, which the LA Times would promote selectively.  One of their selections (like French and Saunders) was Mapp and Lucia.
.
It is / was a book series by E.F. Benson about a self-absorbed group of self-important people in a small town on the coast of England - Tilling (although it is generally know to be based on Rye).  Here I was introduced to both Geraldine Mcewan and Prunella Scales (Ms. Scales much better known for Faulty Towers).
.
It was a joy to watch.
.
Ms. Mcewan gained much greater fame for her BBC series of Miss Marple. And was seen in many many other movies, but she will always be Lucia to me.  She passed away this week.  And although a 1985 series may seem an odd way to remember her, it is - none the less - who I shall.
