Not so much the Internet AS a problem. But the Internet as a objective of communication, no that has no filter. And for years, people only saw what was close by or the mass media chose to show.

You can't see this shot of a Syrian child refugee and be unmoved. It is heart breaking. It is a signpost that the world is fucked up. This kid didn't deserve to die like this. Moreover, his death was driven by action and inaction of our government. The US has chosen war. Bush the Younger screwed the pooch in Iraq with a war that drove instability everywhere in the middle east. Obama dithered for a long time and then went in "jets ablazing". None of us went in food abalazing or help ablazing.
