Goodnight and Goodluck Ley Ley: Mascot for June 2010

So lovely Lleyton Hewitt is probably going to retire soon. His best days are over (or, if not, others have raised their game a lot).
.
And so, our trip to Roland Garros was one of the last times to see him play very good. And he did play very very good. But Raffa played better.

In 2000, Hewitt had won ATP titles on all three major surfaces (Hard, Clay and Grass) and reached one final on carpet. By 2001, he became the youngest male ever to be ranked number one, at the age of 20. His career achievements include winning the 2000 US Open men's doubles, the 2001 US Open and 2002 Wimbledon men's singles, and back-to-back Tennis Masters Cup titles (2001 and 2002).

Lleyton reminds me a lot of Eddie. He has great calves, a nice smile and steely determination. He and Eddie are about the same height and look great in hats. And neither can grow good facial hair :-).
.
He is still one of the cutest on the tour. But I think he is probably done playing at a top level.

So here is to you Lley Lley. 29 seems awfully young to have to go through a mid-life crisis - but you had an amazing run.
