First, my aunt was mentally retarded with Down's Syndrome. Mental Retardation isn't caused by a vaccine. It is a chromosomal condition. Unless the HPV vaccine is magically introducing a new chromosome, it isn't causing mental retardation. Hell no. She believes that giving a vaccine which prevents cervical and throat cancers - will encourage premarital sex. So you not only should you NOT have premarital sex, if you do, you should die for it.

Honest to God. That is the logic. If you vaccination against an STD, your children will take that as approval to have pre-marital sex. So instead you should die of cancer.

Maybe it hits home with me because I watched my close friend, Lauren Pfau, die of cancer. Watching your friend die of cancer tends to focus your mind. My dad died of cancer. My grandmother survived cancer. To choose to expose your own children if bad enough, but people listen to her. People have elected her. She is now encouraging people to let their children die of cancer. Because they might have premarital sex. Or they might marry someone else who had premarital sex.

I know all the young homos weren't around, but this is how people condemned AIDS victims to death in the 1980s. "You shouldn't have gay sex. If you do so -then you deserve to die. It's God's will." You know who else kills women for having sex? The Taliban. In parts of the the Muslim world - and particularly when the Taliban was in power in Afganistan, a woman that has sex outside of marriage is stoned to death. It is no less evil to purposely hold a vaccine away from young people so they don't have sex.

And while I totally defend Michele Bachmann's choice to disbelief science on Global Climate change and to home school her children that the Grand Canyon is a result of Noah's flood 3,000 years ago and the moon is made of colby jack - I totally think she is a horrible, evil terrible person for enabling thousands of woman to die from cervical cancer.
