Well after
July and I have listed my movies, I can explain the why of those particular movies. You know, what I think it says about life, the country
and me. Why they can be a barometer of
life.
.
But more
importantly - I blog this month about movies, in general, because the world is going to hell in a handbag, and I don’t
find much funny about it. Nincompoopery
is easier and easier to find, but harder and harder to laugh about.
.
“What?” you
say.
.
Israel and Palestine. Kids getting bombed, playing at the ocean. Iraq, Syria and the Caliphate. Ukraine and
Russia. The South China Sea. The Senkaku
/ Diaoyu Islands. The Alabama Republican Party. New York’s Deblassio. Microsoft
lays off 18,000. Uganda killing gays. Nigerians stealing girls from school. A
Futbol player suspended for biting - a third time! Bees dying en mass.
California and Texas on track to suffer the worst droughts ever. 200 shootings in Chicago this year. “I’m not a
scientist.” Five old white Catholic men deciding that the Religious beliefs of
Corporations more important than the rights of actual People. Earthquakes in
Oklahoma (“unrelated to anything”). “Socialist / Communist / Fascists”. John
Bohner’s Lawsuit. Bengaz-apaloza. Comcast and Rupert Murdoch fighting over
Time-Warner (which is like picking if you want crushed glass or rat feces on
your shitburger).
.
We are
whistling past the graveyard – and I choose (this month) to whistle away
watching movies.
.
Sue me.
