Texas Gunman Should Have Been Prohibited From AK 47 Purchase

So this should be hopeful news to both gun rights and gun control advocates.

The Texas gunman should have been prohibited from purchasing the guns he used because he was convicted of domestic abuse. Now it is true that a mishap by the Air Force meant he slipped through the cracks - which is tragic. BUT, here the system was in place.

And, yes, this gunman slipped through the cracks, but maybe that same law has helped stopped many other, similar, attacks.

And then the gunman was stopped by a good gun with a gun.

It is a case that demonstrates the best of both sides arguments.

Here the answer isn't more gun control laws, but better enforcement of the laws we have. And, perhaps, reinstating the mental health rules that prohibit some patients from getting guns.
